Henry Hyde is retiring after many years in Congress. Businesswoman Christine Cegelis is running to be the Democratic nominee, and she now has competition from attorney Peter O'Malley.
I am conflicted in who to support (I will be living in the IL sixth this summer):
Cegelis ran a competent but underfunded campaign in 2004, and would have greater name recognition. Also, running a woman ALWAYS helps Democrats in the suburbs.

O'Malley ran a very strong campaign for county board (DuPage county has no Democrats on its county board), is from my hometown, and seems to be running stong only weeks after announcing.

Republican St. Sen. Peter Roskam all but has the republican nomination locked up, and will not be a strong candidate if we can paint him as too far to the right for a fairly moderate district.
So who should I support? I want to volunteer/donate money ASAP, but can't decide who to back....
